Whistling Straits
The Straits Course and The Irish Course:
Host site of 2004, 2010, and 2015 PGA Championships, 2007 US Senior Open, and the 2020 Ryder Cup.
The Straits Course – The Straits course runs along 2 miles of uninterrupted shoreline of Lake Michigan. All eighteen holes have a view of the lake while eight of them run directly along the shoreline. Enormous bluffs, massive sand dunes and the traditional fescue grass fairways make the Straits course a unique and very challenging golf experience. The course has five sets of tees to accommodate players of any ability.
Irish Course – The Irish course opened in August of 2000 to rave reviews. Four streams meander their way throughout the course giving it both character and bite. Similar to the Straits course, The Irish course has a multitude of large bluffs and sand dunes that add to the personality and difficulty of the course. The 13th hole, appropriately named “Blind man’s bluff”, is a blind par three with a 14,500 square foot green surrounded by 20-40 foot sand dunes. The course has five sets of tees to accommodate players of any ability.
Blackwolf Run
The River Course and Meadow Valleys Course:
Host site of 1998, 2010, and 2012 U.S. Women’s Open
River Course -The River course meanders throughout the Sheboygan River which comes in to play on 10 of the 18 holes. Additional water hazards on the course help to make the River an extremely penal course. The undulating greens and elevation changes are sure to frustrate players while the natural beauty is sure to please. The course has four sets of tees to accommodate players of any ability.
Meadow Valleys Course – The Meadow Valleys course is appropriately named seeing that the front nine wanders through an open meadow and the back nine is carved out of a natural valley. The course has large rolling fairways and difficult greens. The back nine hosts several substantial elevation changes including the dramatic 227 yard par 3 15th hole. The course has four sets of tees to accommodate players of any ability.
